How many times have new ideas come to me in the shower, on a walk or during a workout? I’ve lost count. Whenever one really caught my interest, I wanted to know more about it straight away. I looked things up and then, often without much thought, sat down to work.
Mostly I built things at home, for my own satisfaction. Today I can see that some of those ideas were genuinely innovative. With every project I gained experience, and my passion for technology grew.
What I lacked, though, was business sense. I didn’t know how to show my ideas to others and build a business on them. So I helped local companies, friends and the organisations I worked for. Sometimes for free.
30 years in technology
For over 30 years I grew professionally in the technology industry. Over time I ended up in ever larger organisations and international projects.
Along the way I climbed every rung: from a website and web app developer to an architect designing systems for large corporations. I learned to build fast, modern solutions that support marketing and sales, and not only online.
Everything was going well. And that is exactly when I heard the diagnosis.
The diagnosis
“You have cancer. We don’t know if you will be able to walk. The situation is very serious.”
I smiled and replied: “OK.”
The doctor asked: “Do you understand what I’m telling you?”
“Of course,” I replied.
Only half an hour later did the tears come. I began asking the universe to let me go on living.
At the time I didn’t know why I wanted to live so much. I thought about my family and my own company, but I felt that wasn’t the whole answer yet. A month later my fight for life began.
What do I want to live for?
I survived, but recovering took me more than three years. That time changed a lot in me. I understood that a life without purpose and passion feels empty and monotonous to me.
The answer turned out to be a journey: into myself, towards people and out into the world. I study psychology and shamanism, I dance and go to festivals, and I am gathering my experiences into a book about conscious living.
Along the way I discovered something else. One of my greatest passions is sharing knowledge and experience. What I had done “on the side” for years, helping friends and local companies, turned out to be what gives me the most joy.
That is how Passion Ventures was born: from combining 30 years of experience in technology with the need to support others in creating something of their own.
Who is my offer for?
I help people who have a passion or an idea but don’t know how to turn it into a concrete offer and an online business. For example:
- a therapist who wants to see clients online but doesn’t know where to start or how to present herself,
- a yoga teacher who has been teaching classes for years and still takes bookings through Messenger and sticky notes,
- a creator like Fredrik, a filmmaker who wanted to show his stories to the world and grow his podcast into something bigger,
- someone planning workshops or retreats who gets lost in domains, hosting and tools.
Is it easy for them? No. They have a passion, but technology and marketing eat up the time and energy they would rather give their clients. I know what that’s like, because for years I had ideas myself that I couldn’t turn into a business.
If this is you
I believe everyone can live with passion, on their own terms. I help with that because I have walked this path myself.
If you recognise yourself in any of these people, start with the guide “You have a passion. How do you turn it into a business idea?”. It walks you through four steps from the idea to your first client.
And if you’d rather talk, book a free 20-minute call.
Tell me about your passion, and together we’ll work out the best place to start.
